The in itself is a wonderful idea. I enjoyed the level design, the obtaining weapons and creating items to help you. The game starts off strong, and as I got the first weapons and played around I was having quite a bit of fun.
However halfway through (about when the ice areas start), the game's difficult took a wild swing up. Mobs of enemies easily overpower you, traps seem to only be passable by having enough health, and enemies start taking an incredibly high amount of hits to die.
The secret walls were difficult to find for me. Getting gems seemed to be more about luck of enemeis dropping them. Sadly the gem weapons to me seem to become useless once a new weapon comes along. The P90 is a great example of this. Once you can get the SCAR, the P90 really isn't that useful anymore. You can't get your hard to find gems back either.
The controls worked well to a point, except when precise movement is needed. I found myself accidently jumping onto spikes and getting nailed by the knife droppers quite often. Trying to jump into small sections to gain treasure was also a pain, as I found myself missing by bumping my head on something or just not making a precise angle. Later on, this became very frusterating as I'd simply miss, and get stuck in a pit of lava.
This is simply just nitpicking, but a wider variety of music would've been nice for each area. I muted the music half way through, as it was getting repetitive and was giving me a migrane.
Now that I've gotten all my complaints out of the way, let me tell you what you did really well.
The progression except for the wild swing in difficulty, was great. The different areas kept me interested enough to beat it. The signs were a great read and added some humor to the game.
The core gameplay was fun, jumping and shooting enemeis. Finding keys and exploring the dugeon was an interesting experience and definatly reminded me of the Megaman Legends games.
The enemy design was good, typical stuff you'd expect to find in a game. A good variety and simplicity that reminded me of older video games. Except at the end, the enemies were challenging, until they started becoming an incredible hassle to try and kill.
My suggestions if you make a sequel (and you definatly should!)
1. Try and make the controls a bit more flexible.
2. Maybe add some more balanced traps, some that you can dodge or work around a bit easier.
3. Try to work on the difficulty a bit, no harm done in making it hard, but ease into it a bit more.
4. Make the weapons more balanced. Try not to phase things out entirely. The weapons that were chambered in pistol rounds became useless towards the end.
5. Add some more music tracks.
6. Try and add to the environments a bit more. Maybe some slick platforms, elevators and other stuff.
I hope I've given you some constructive criticism. Good game, hope to see more from you in the future.

Good Game, just could use a few tweaks

Great
Great game, have a few questions and would appreciate a PM to clear up somethings.
1) What's up with the thing in the hallway in the last building. I figured it would be something later on but nothing.
2) There are two doors in the second building without door handles. Is there a way to open these? Does it have anything to do with the secret medal?
3) What's up with what you find in the washing machine? Why is it there?
Overall great, I hope to see you make a bigger and better survival horror point and click like this very soon.
